Serve the Lord

Jesus commands us to love one another. We accomplish this by serving one another. But, sometimes it’s hard. Sometimes people aren’t as they ought to be. Sometimes it’s hard just to follow Christ. It seems like we can easily go from spiritual highs to spiritual lows. Is there a way to gain some consistency?

God's Faithfulness Gives Life

Recap

Deep in their grief, the women went to the tomb to finish preparing Jesus’ body for burial. They should have known better, their efforts, though beautifully loving, were unnecessary. Jesus is alive! The tomb is empty! The angels reminded them of the words Jesus told them, how he’d be handed over to sinful men, crucified, died, buried, but on the third day he’d rise from the dead.

The disciples, the Eleven, didn’t believe the women. Peter checked it out for himself. They were right, they told the truth. Jesus body wasn’t there. He began to wonder. Together the disciples started putting the pieces in place. Jesus is alive!

God's Faithfulness Produces Reconciliation

Recap

On Sunday, we talked about Luke 15:1-3, 11-32, the parable of the lost son. Sunday marked the fourth Sunday in Lent. In today’s text we looked at the familiar parable of the lost son. And while many of us have heard this story countless times from Sunday school to many sermons over the years; it is our hope your hearts and minds can be opened as you dive into various other texts connecting to this parable.
