Recap

As we continue in this Advent season, we are looking at the ways in which God worked in and through His people in history, fulfilling his promises. Immediately after they sinned, God promised that one of their descendants would save humanity by crushing Satan and rescuing us from bondage and slavery to sin. God renewed that promise through Abraham saying that he would bless everyone through him.

At just the right time, God fulfilled his promise by bringing a new prophet and herald to prepare the way for the messiah. John, miracle son of Elizabeth and Zechariah, was born to prepare the way for Jesus. Filled with the Holy Spirit, he called people to repent (like prophets of old) and he heralded the coming of the saviour of the world!
